Conferences
EPEC held three conferences at the end of September: Become an EPEC Trainer, Become an EPEC-Emergency Medicine Trainer and our Professional Development Workshop. We had 98 participants from 29 states, as well as Canada and Puerto Rico. Thank you to everyone who attended. We had enthusiastic and engaged participants from many backgrounds and disciplines and we look forward to hearing about your future training efforts!

Dr. Joshua Hauser spoke on the EPEC for Veterans Project at the World Congress 3rd Annual Leadership Summit on Hospice and Palliative Care held June 22-24, 2011 in Chicago.

Recently, the Medical Council of India has approved Palliative Medicine as a specialty as well as a three-year postgraduate residency program in Palliative Medicine. This step forward is the result of the hard work of many palliative care workers, not to mention the physician and nurses who have championed the cause.
